BCS sub-editor recruitment 2024

BCS sub-editor recruitment 2024

Would you like to be one of our sub-editors for a year?

Would you like to improve your writing skills, learn about different cardiology topics and have the opportunity to win a prize at the BCS annual conference?

Then the BCS sub-editor role could be for you!

You will commit to writing at least two editorials in your editorial year on topics that interest you, for publication on the BCS website. The top 3 editorials submitted will be presented as an oral presentation at BCS 2025, with the opportunity to win a prize.

The work can be done remotely without any travel required and alongside your current position, and you will have the support of our BCS Editorial Editors, Dr Akriti Naraen and Dr Peysh Patel. There are also opportunities to assist with educational activities related to the annual BCS conference and to input ideas to augment the educational content of the BCS website, making it more relevant to trainees and consultants.

The sub-editor roles are available to cardiology specialist trainees. To apply, please submit your UK cardiology NTN and BCS member numbers, with a brief abstract of 100 words on your chosen topic, to BCS Editorials Editor Dr Akriti Naraen – akriti.naraen@doctors.org.uk by 11.59pm on Friday 26 July.

The entries will be competitively assessed and a select number will be invited to become sub-editors. The role will begin in September 2024.
